Community Supported Agriculture
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a system where people buy a “share” of a local farm’s harvest ahead of time. In return, they get a box of fresh, seasonal food each week during the growing season. This model helps farmers pay for seeds and tools early, and it lets buyers and growers share the risks and rewards of farming.
How It Works
Upfront Payment: Members pay the farm before the season starts to help cover basic costs.
Weekly Shares: Members get a regular box of produce, fruit, eggs, or other farm goods.
Shared Risk: If bad weather hurts the crops, members may get less food, but a good harvest means extra food.
